Who does the SSIA cover?

• Guarding and Mobile Patrols
• Crowd Control
• Dog Handlers
• Escorts
• Body Guards

The award does not cover:
• Any Cash in Transit portion of the employer’s business.
• Prisons, correctional or other detention facilities.
• Installation, maintenance or repair of electronic alarm and/or monitoring systems; or
• Installation, maintenance, repair or replenishing of ATMs.
• An employer bound by an enterprise award or an enterprise Notional

Agreement Preserving a State Award (NAPSA) with respect to any employee who is covered by the enterprise award or enterprise NAPSA.

• An employer bound by a state reference public sector modern award, or a state reference public sector transitional award.

Where an employer is covered by more than one award, their employees are covered by the award which is most appropriate to the work they perform and the environment in which they work.

Where there is no classification for a particular employee in this award, it is possible that the employer and that employee are covered by another award with occupational coverage.
