How to join ASIAL

1. Choose the type of membership for you

Corporate
Companies whose core business is security or derive profit from the security industry and who hold a security licence (or are applying for a licence in their respective state or territory) can apply to become a Corporate member. Corporate members have access to the wide range of services provided by ASIAL.
PLEASE NOTE:
Companies that have been in business in the security industry for less than two years, or that do not fully comply with ASIAL’s membership requirements, are eligible to become Provisional Corporate members. Provisional members can apply for full membership at a later date*. Provisional Corporate members are unable to use the ASIAL logo on advertising material and are not eligible to vote at Annual General Meetings.
* At the conclusion of 12 months but before the expiry of the 2 year period.

Associate
Organisations whose core business is not security, but for whom security plays an important role, can gain access to invaluable information and networks by becoming an Associate member. Industry sectors represented in this category include utilities, financial institutions, transport, aviation and clubs.
Individual
Individual membership is an information only service available to any individual involved in the security industry.
Please note: Individual membership does not satisfy licensing requirements.
Affiliate
Any company, enterprise or individual person whether in Australia or overseas which is not eligible for Corporate, Associate or Individual Membership may apply for Affiliate membership. This membership category is awarded at the discretion of the Board.

NOTE: Each category has a different fee. Please consult the Fee Schedule when completing your application. The fee for corporate membership is based on annual turnover so please ensure you have selected the most appropriate category for your business.

2. Complete the membership application form in full.

3. Remember to include copies of the following documents with your application:

Corporate/Provisional/Associate membership
  • Business Registration Certificates, where applicable (Company name, Business Trading Name, ABN number)
  • Public Liability Insurance Certificate (minimum cover $5 million, $10 million if firearms are used in your business)
  • Workers Compensation Insurance Coverage (applicable where you have employees or a Pty Ltd company)
  • Security Licences held (if applicable)
  • References - One trade (suppliers and security companies) and one professional (Solicitors, Accountants, Bank Manager etc).
Individual Membership
  • Security Licences held (if applicable)
  • References - One Trade (suppliers and security companies) and one Professional (Solicitors, Accountants, Bank Manager etc).
