Obligations under the AML/CTF Act

The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act) commenced in December 2006, bringing with it considerable obligations for cash in transit businesses operating in Australia. While many reporting entities understand their obligations under the new Act, the regulator, AUSTRAC is finding that AML/CTF programs may not been effectively implemented, and therefore not functioning effectively.

Joy Geary, AML Master will discuss the obligations of cash in transit businesses under the AML/CTF Act, how to develop an effective AML/CTF Program and how procedures can be maintained to ensure compliance.

For further information on Joy Geary and the training and consulting services she can provide visit The AML Master website.

PLUS ..

Mal Kinter, AustralianSuper will discuss topical issues related to Superannuation and employer requirements.

Managing behaviour successfully

There are many differences in the way humans behave, especially in the workplace. When people work together on a daily basis, some of these differences can take on a life of their own. Misunderstandings, irritations, conflicts, and all kinds of negative reactions can occur when we don’t understand each other’s behaviour. In some worst case scenarios, if behaviour is not managed correctly, it can get out of hand. Workplace abuse and bullying occur. People get sick, go on stress leave, and may even leave altogether.

At the upcoming TAS breakfast briefing
Dr Pauline Enright, Socratic Solutions, will provide an overview how to improve workplace outcomes, workplace harmony and better staff retention rates. Pauline is the only Enneagram Institute (NY) certified teacher in Tasmania. Pauline teaches personal development and philosophy courses to the business community and government organisations, promoted through the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce.

PLUS ...

Nigel Garland, Commissioner for Corporate Affairs, Department of Justice will provide an update on licensing matters.
